Notes:

• Volunteer hours will be scheduled earlier and/or later depending upon position and show needs.
• Work shifts are typically 4-hour long. Although note required, we prefer volunteers who can work one shift for at least three or more of the five days of the show run (including set-up).
• Some positions and special show requirements may require longer shifts.  Schedules are typically distributed one week in advance.

Artfest Kingston Festival is an annual event celebrating diversity through art, music, food, and cultural performances. We need support from community members of all ages and talents. We have a variety of roles that require talented and enthusiastic community members to activate!

Ideal for people who wish to flex their creative and social muscles  We have more involved positions that may require some work in advance of the event or for specialized tasks.  Ideal for adults, we are seeking help with:

• Feature Planning & Execution
• Promotions Team
• Volunteer Recruitment

Ideal for adults and post-secondary students, are roles for those who can assist with more complex work including: 

• Show Crew - Physical labour including set-up/teardown (workboots/gloves required), exhibit and site maintenance
• Event Staff - Assist with disseminating show information, taking surveys, assist vendors, traffic control
• Feature Area Supervisors - assisting show management with feature area functioning
• Administration - includes data entry, information distribution and preparation, answering and logging customer inquiries 
• Drivers - with vehicles, preferably with trailer transport capabilities
• Hospitality Area Monitors - Access control; Smartserve Trained Food Area Monitors
• Cleaners - including waste bins, recycling and washroom maintenance

Roles that are ideal for Ideal for students and others who wish to help us onsite for the weekend, we seek help in the following areas:

• Customer Operations - includes greeting, survey taking, vendor assistance, feature assistance, promotions assistance, light site maintenance
• Administration - includes data entry, information distribution and preparation, answering and logging customer inquiries
• Cleaners - including waste bins, recycling and washroom maintenance

Artfest Kingston Show Management will provide students with documentation to submit to their school for

• Your secondary school for diploma requirements

Please note that if you are under the age of 18 years old, a parental permission form is required to be submitted prior to starting work.
